Axiom AI, a startup out of the UCF Incubator, landed a major contract with the Navy—proving, again, that defense and AI are becoming a serious lane for our region. Virtualware USA and HTC VIVE are partnering with UCF on next-gen simulation and digital engineering. Amazon’s first operational internet satellites are launching from Cape Canaveral, and Space Florida is pushing forward on a new commerce district to expand commercial space.
In startup news, Startup Weekend Orlando just landed the largest of six new city-backed innovation grants—huge win for the local founder community. Even cooler? You can be part of it.
