SUMMARY:Making Apps for Everybody: An iOS Accessibility Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn to test iOS apps with real accessibility tools and write more inclusive SwiftUI code — even in the age of AI-assisted coding.\n\n\nBuilding Apps for Everybody: A SwiftUI Accessibility Workshop \nIf you’re building with SwiftUI and shipping products to Apple’s iOS App Store\, you want to reach as many users as possible — and that means making sure your app works well with the accessibility tools your users rely on. \nWith more of us using AI tools to help write code\, it’s easier than ever to accidentally leave accessibility gaps in our apps. This workshop is about closing those gaps. \nIn this hands-on session\, we’ll: \n\nTest native iOS apps using the most commonly used accessibility tools on the platform\nPut ourselves in our users’ shoes to better understand how they navigate our apps\nLearn practical SwiftUI techniques for writing more accessible code\nWalk away with habits you can apply to any project going forward\nWho’s This For?\n\nThis workshop is for anyone who wants to build more inclusive iOS apps\, including: \n\nCollege students studying computer science or related fields who want to build accessibility skills employers value\nAdults exploring a career change into tech\, looking to build practical\, in-demand SwiftUI skills\nFounders and non-technical builders with little coding experience who want to create their own apps and make sure they don’t unintentionally exclude users\n\nWhether you’re just starting out or have years of experience\, you’ll leave with tools you can put to use right away. \n(To participate in the coding portion of the workshop\, a MacBook with Xcode installed will be required) \nPreparation:Install Xcode and TestFlight before the night of the workshop\, both free from the App Store. Xcode runs to several gigabytes\, so start that one early rather than the evening before. An additional link will be given out in person for how TestFlight is used. \nImportant!!!The workshop itself is accessible to learners from beginner to expert and the instructor will do XCode live as an explanation. If they do not want to code they can still participate through only TestFlight or if they only want to listen to learn about accessibility they will still have plenty of takeaways — don’t let that hold you back from attending!

SUMMARY:Create Your 6 Month Marketing Roadmap: Stop Guessing\, Start Growing
DESCRIPTION:Stop guessing at marketing tactics. Work with our expert to build a strategic roadmap tied to your growth goals\, budget\, and business.\n\n\nA new social channel. A podcast. SEO. Paid ads. Email marketing. AI-generated content. \nWhen you’re building a business\, there is no shortage of people—or algorithms—telling you what you should be doing to market it. But without a clear strategy behind those tactics\, founders can spend valuable time and money creating a lot of activity without creating meaningful growth. \nA pile of tactics is not a marketing plan. \nJoin Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship (WTE) and senior marketing strategist Cynthia Plunkett\, Founder of CP Marketing + Co.\, for a hands-on startup marketing workshop designed to help founders step out of reactive marketing mode and build a strategic roadmap around where their business actually needs to go. \nRather than starting with “Should I be on TikTok?” or “Do I need to invest in SEO?”\, you’ll start with the questions that should come first. Using a companion marketing worksheet and a real SaaS business example\, Cynthia will guide you through a three-part framework—Current State\, Desired State\, and Strategic Marketing Plan—while you apply each step to your own business in real time. \nYou’ll leave with more than ideas. You’ll leave with the foundation of a 3–6 month marketing roadmap you can start acting on this week. \n\n\nTogether\, we’ll work through how to:\n\nAssess your current marketing strategy\, customers\, competitive landscape\, and gaps before investing in another tactic\nClarify your ideal customer\, their pain points\, and the people involved in their buying decisions\nDefine what “growth” actually means for your stage of business\nTranslate revenue and customer targets into measurable SMART marketing goals\nBuild a focused 3–6 month marketing roadmap instead of chasing disconnected campaigns\nDetermine what you should do yourself\, what AI can accelerate\, and when a contractor or specialist makes sense\nCreate a clear marketing brief that gives agencies\, freelancers\, contractors\, or AI tools the context they need to execute effectively\nMeasure what’s working so your next marketing decision is informed by evidence rather than guesswork\n\n\n\nThis Is a Working Session\nCome prepared to work on your business\, not just take notes about marketing. \nCynthia will walk through the framework using a healthcare SaaS company as a live example while attendees complete the same exercises for their own businesses using a companion worksheet. \nWe’ll move from: \nWhere are we now?→ Where are we trying to go?→ What marketing actually gets us there? \nYou’ll leave with your worksheet to continue refining after the session\, including practical AI prompts you can use to research\, draft\, and execute against the strategy you’ve built. \nBuilding Without a Big Marketing Team\nYou don’t need a full marketing department to become more strategic about growth. \nWe’ll explore how early-stage founders can combine their own expertise with AI tools\, freelancers\, contractors\, and specialized partners to execute a thoughtful marketing plan without prematurely building an expensive internal team. \nThe goal isn’t to use every tool available. It’s to know what needs to be done\, why you’re doing it\, who or what should do it\, and how you’ll know whether it worked. \nThis workshop is especially valuable for SaaS founders\, consultants\, professional services firms\, startup founders\, solopreneurs\, and early-stage businesses that are ready to move beyond founder-led\, ad hoc marketing and build a more repeatable path to growth. \n\n\n\nMeet the Speaker\nCynthia Plunkett | Founder & Strategic Marketing Consultant | CP Marketing + Co.\nCynthia Plunkett is a senior marketing strategist and Founder of CP Marketing + Co. with nearly 15 years of experience helping businesses make smarter marketing decisions. After seeing companies repeatedly invest in channels\, tools\, and agencies before clearly defining what they were trying to accomplish\, Cynthia developed an advisory approach that starts with the business itself: its goals\, differentiators\, customers\, and opportunities. She then translates those insights into a strategic marketing roadmap and connects clients with vetted partners when specialized execution is needed. Her approach helps founders replace scattered tactics and costly guesswork with clarity\, confidence\, and a marketing strategy built around what their business actually needs to grow. \n\n\n\nAbout Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship (WTE)\nWomen in Tech & Entrepreneurship is a dues-free\, member-led organization helping women across all industries start\, scale\, and lead in today’s economy. We provide educational programming\, near-peer mentorship\, and a thriving community of support for women building bold careers and businesses — on their own terms.

SUMMARY:Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship - St. Petersburg October Happy Hour
DESCRIPTION:A casual gathering of high-performing\, non-conforming women founders\, tech workers\, VCs\, and hype girls\n\n\nJoin us for a casual monthly gathering of high-performing\, non-conforming women. Our mission is to resource women in technology and entrepreneurship with near-peer mentorship\, educational opportunities\, and a support network. Over the last 4 years\, we’ve supported over 16\,000 guests across 70 countries through 300+ free of cost networking events\, webinars\, and workshops. Our monthly happy hours serve as an opportunity for members and interested guests to connect\, build relationships\, discuss industry challenges\, and chart the way ahead. \n\n\n\nVenue Spotlight: Central Park St. Pete\nCentral Park St. Pete is a next-level food hall experience on Central Avenue that throws out the old rules entirely. Your whole group sits together\, orders however you like\, and explores an entire world of food — from craft burgers and NYC-style deli to handmade pasta\, street tacos\, globally inspired Asian fare\, and wood-fired pizza. Pour your own craft beer\, sip frozen cocktails at 27 North\, or head up to the tropical rooftop bar for panoramic views of the city. \nPS: To keep our membership and events FREE\, food and drinks at this event will be self-pay. Want to sponsor this event (and treat the crew)?
