reFOCUS with AIGA: Sean Walsh’s Lessons from the Swamp

🌞 Beat the heat and wade into another cool, inspiring guest lecture from Orlando’s own design darling: Sean Walsh of Secret Society Goods, and Principal Graphic Designer and Creative Director of Acomb Ostendorf and Associates via AIGA Orl’s reFOCUS 2026 series.
Join us as Sean shares Lessons from the Swamp: Two Steamy Decades of Graphic Design, spilling the tea on topics such as:
💗 Stumbling into doing what you love;
↪️ Pivoting into experiential design and working with some of the biggest IPs in the world;
🧘 Making peace with creative humidity by finding balance between your professional career and your mental health;
🐊 Creating opportunities and turning career gators into glow-ups;
🍊 And working alongside local flora and fauna here in Orlando!
If we’re lucky, he may share some Central Florida birdwatching tips… because inspiration lurks where least expected!
Curious about our featured lecturer? Let’s introduce you! Sean finds inspiration everywhere – old signs, vintage advertisements, product labels, analog technology, architecture, theme parks, matchbooks, luggage tags, posters – but he is constantly amazed at the creativity sparked in him by spending time in nature. He sees his personal voice and sense of humor as a through line in his work. You can check out his portfolio at secretsociety.work.
🦉 It’s sure to be a hoot! Free, fun, and mosquito repellent not needed! A huge thanks to our venue, the Melrose Center at the Downtown Orlando Library.
